Meet the Team - Walt’s Insulation

Meet the Mission Viejo Team Behind Walt’s Insulation

We’re not a franchise with a rotating cast of subcontractors. The crew that shows up at your door in Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Ladera Ranch, or Rancho Santa Margarita is the same group of people week after week. Most of them have been with Walt’s Insulation for over a decade. They know each other’s habits, they know the attics in this part of South Orange County, and they know when a 1960s tract home off Marguerite Parkway is going to fight back before they even open the hatch. That’s the kind of thing you only get from a team that’s actually local.

Our People

Mike D. – Lead Insulation Technician

Mike has been running insulation crews in Orange County since 2004 and joined Walt’s Insulation in 2008. He’s our lead on spray foam and blown-in applications, and he holds current Owens Corning and Demilec installation certifications. If you’ve got a tricky vaulted ceiling or an attic with baffles that were installed wrong by someone else, Mike’s the one who figures it out. He grew up in Mission Viejo and still lives about ten minutes from the office. On weekends you’ll find him fishing off Dana Point, usually complaining that the halibut aren’t what they used to be.

Rachel S. – Service Coordinator

Rachel is the voice on the phone. She’s been with us since 2012 and handles scheduling, estimates, and the endless logistics of getting the right materials to the right job on time. Before Walt’s, she worked in construction supply in Irvine, so she knows the difference between Rockwool and fiberglass and she won’t read you a script. Rachel’s the one who remembers that you mentioned your son was starting at Saddleback College, or that your dog doesn’t like strangers with ladders. She lives in Aliso Viejo and yes, she actually answers the phone at 2 a.m. when it rings.

Tony M. – Senior Installer, Crawl Space & Radiant Barrier Specialist

Tony started with Walt’s fifteen years ago as an apprentice and now runs most of our crawl space encapsulation and vapor barrier work. He’s the guy who voluntarily spends eight hours a day under houses, which tells you something about him. Tony is certified in Icynene spray foam installation and has personally done radiant barrier work in more than 400 homes across south Orange County. He’s the quiet one on the crew, but he’ll talk your ear off about barbecue if you ask. He competes in a rib cook-off in San Juan Capistrano every summer and has finished in the top three twice.

Kevin R. – Apprentice Installer

Kevin is the newest member of the team, two years in, and he’s already proven himself on over 200 attic insulation jobs. He’s working toward his Johns Manville certification and spends a lot of time in attics learning what Mike and Tony already know. Kevin grew up in Rancho Santa Margarita and played baseball at Tesoro High School before deciding the trades made more sense than a desk. He’s the one who handles the heavy lifting on removal jobs and somehow stays cheerful even when it’s 110 degrees in a Lake Forest attic in August.

One Standard, Every Job

When you hire Walt’s Insulation, you’re not rolling the dice on which crew shows up. The Done Right Promise applies to every single job, from a small attic air sealing project in a condo off Crown Valley to a full spray foam retrofit in a custom home in Coto de Caza. “If it’s not done right, we make it right” isn’t a marketing line. It’s how Walt has run this company since 2000, and it’s the standard Mike, Rachel, Tony, and Kevin work to every day.

Every technician is background-checked and shows up in a uniform with a company vehicle. You’ll know who’s walking into your house. Every installer has been trained on the specific products we use, from CertainTeed batt insulation to GreenFiber blown-in to Knauf and Rockwool applications. If a manufacturer puts out an updated spec, our crew learns it before it affects your job. And because we’re owner-operated and local, the person answering the phone and the person in your attic are working for the same guy: Walt Brenner. There’s no call center, no outsourced dispatcher, and no passing the buck.

We serve the whole Mission Viejo area including Lake Forest, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, and the surrounding communities. Same crew, same standards, same attention to detail whether the job takes two hours or three days.

Call (949) 528-8707 and you’ll talk to Rachel or Walt directly. Need a second opinion on a written estimate? No charge. Over 200 dollars in repairs? That’s $40 off. Seniors and veterans save 10% on every job, permanently. That’s how we’ve done it for 25 years, and that’s not changing.
